GROOMING BY KRISTIE

When I first brought home my puppy 10 years ago—among all the challenges of learning how to provide the best care for him—the biggest question was: where do I take him for grooming? I couldn't trust commercial pet store grooming services and also wouldn't leave him at a high-volume grooming shop to be trapped in a cage, stressed for hours on end, enduring the noise and chaos while waiting his turn to be worked on.

That's when I realized that there was only one solution: I had to become his groomer.

I threw my English Literature and Technical Writing degrees out the window and dove into a new career path in animal care and grooming starting at a local VCA animal hospital. I worked there for several years, where I trained tirelessly, helped to run and manage the operation, and assisted grooming in a fast-paced, bustling shop.

By opening my own private grooming studio, the goal is to provide a space for my client's dogs that I would trust my own dog to be in—one that is comfortable, clean, calm, and most importantly, safe. You get an express in-and-out service and can rest assured knowing that your dog is getting my undivided, one-on-one attention and is being well cared for in a personal home environment.

I am certified in Pet First Aid & CPR through the Pet Tech PetSaver program, and I attend national grooming expositions and seminars to continue furthering my knowledge and to keep up on the latest trends, tools, equipment, and best practices of the industry. I am extremely experienced working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments and can handle any dog confidently. Through all my interactions with dogs in the vet hospital, grooming, and boarding environments—and having seen and dealt with many types of situations—I have valuable experience and insight that make me keenly aware and knowledgeable in this field.
